In this tutorial I will attempt to take you through step by step how
to make a couple of quick tubes that you can use to make Wreaths,
Tinsel, Garlands, Christmas trees etc.....
I used Paint shop pro7
and KPT's5 Fiber Optix to make them.
The steps below are meant as a guide you don't have to follow them to
the letter, you can experiment with your own settings.
Please respect my rights as the creator of this tutorial and do not

a personal copy out for ease of use while following it. Ok now
on with the tutorial:
|
you should now see a grid of 6 squares on
your canvas.
with foreground color set to green, choose your paintbrush tool at a
size of 19 and paint a little squiggle inside of each section, make
sure you keep away from the gridlines.
|

|
OR.....
Alternatively you can set your
paintbrush to a size of about 50 and just click once inside each of
the grid sections.
|

|
|
Now go to selections/ select all..... then
selections/float.
OR shortcut keys: Ctrl+A then Ctrl+F |
| With
everything still selected.. go into effects/plugins/KPT 5
/FiberOptix, and play around until you get a look you like for your
fake pine needles, make sure you have your fiber color set to green
and the mix gradient color turned right down so that your pine shows
up green. Here are the
settings I used.... when your happy click on the
tick in the bottom right-hand corner to return to PSP |
|

|
| Still with everything selected
goto..
..effects/3d/drop shadow.. and apply a slight drop shadow. |

|
| Selections.. select none! that's
it! now all you have to do is export your image as a tube. go to
File/export/picture tube... here are the settings. you can name it
anything you like, just remember to put in the correct number of
cells across and down. |

|
| Your new tube will now be
available to you from the dropdown menu in your tool options when you
select your tube tool! You can use this tube to paint Wreaths,
Garlands and even Christmas trees :-) |

|
Tinsel.....
Ok now you have a tube for making wreaths why not make
another quick one for some tinsel? Open new image this time
150x100, change your grid and guide settings to horizontal &
vertical 50. Then with your paintbrush set to any color you
want for your tinsel, brush size 19, click once inside of each grid
section, |

|
selections/ select all..... then
selections/float.
OR shortcut keys: Ctrl+A then Ctrl+F,
Now go into Kpt's Fiber Optix and apply the same settings as before,
the only change you need to make is the fiber color! change it to
match the color of your tinsel. |

|
| All that's left is to apply a
slight drop shadow and export as picture tube. Why not make a
few tinsel tubes in different colors ;-). You can colorize the
tinsel you have just made and export it as a new tube. |

|
|
Use your new tubes to make some nice
wreaths and garlands for Christmas :-), Have fun decorating them
with anything you like, take a look in my tube section where you
might find a few bits & pieces for decoration, don't forget to export your finished
wreaths as tubes too!
thank you for doing my tutorial.
